Activity: Reina Tanaka. It was in fact a good year for Morning Musume and Reina was a lead during it all. I can’t say the reasons I liked Morning Musume this year involved Reina at all, but the sheer amount puts Reina over the top.
Looks: Yuuka Maeda. The sheer reliance on the winking and the such detracts from Reina’s look. If she didn’t do it all, she’d certainly win.
Could…could it happen?
Charisma: Reina Tanaka. No, the big upset is avoided. It is because Reina should be a much better idol than she is that I harp on her. However, I have fun finding all the new ways Reina can disappoint me.
WINNER - Reina Tanaka 2-1. Reina barely moves on. Yuuka needs more exposure if she hopes to make it further next year.

Activity: Yuu Kikkawa. Yuko Nakazawa made some sporadic mainstream appearances in Morning Musume 10th anniversary crap. Problem is that it was all crap medleys that bored just about everyone. Yuu Kikkawa will be in Milky Way and had some nice Eggs performances.
Looks: Yuu Kikkawa. Yuko went up against the wrong egg here.
Charisma: Yuko Nakazawa. Despite barely being seen and getting older and older, Yuko is still pretty damn cool.
WINNER - Yuu Kikkawa 2-1. It is a good win for Yuu as she is able to sneak by Yuko. Yuko’s hopes of ever winning the whole tournament were minimal to begin with, but a first round exit doesn’t bode well for Yuko in the future. This sets up Yuu Kikkawa vs. Reina Tanaka. Reina will be a #3 seed against an 11 seed, but let’s not forget that Reina barely beat #14 Yuuka Maeda. Reina will be a slight favorite, but a bad form could kick her out.
