Solving the WGA Strike

Being infected with the plague, I was not able to get into a routine of doing an entry as often as I hoped. I am just now checking out the PVs of The Possible - Happy 15 and Morning Musume - Mikan. I really like both so far and hope to talk about them later. There is also a new Going Under Ground album that has crept up on me.

With the WGA on strike, there has been a lot of talk about what will happen to American television. The fall season of television is all but certain to be cut short. We may see reruns sooner than expected. NBC may even air the original, British version of The Office. If the WGA strike really lasts until and through 2008, reruns and different versions of shows will only go so far. People want original programming. I see a chance!

Well not really. But it’s always fun to imagine idols in different situations. So to solve the WGA strike, I’m going to storm Hollywood with a batch of ideas that’ll knock their socks off!

Hello Morning (Game Show)
I don’t outright hate Haromoni@. I think it’s improved in the last few months to worth skipping through to see if anything interesting happens. Still, the original Hello Morning program was much better television. They say that more game shows will be airing if the strike is prolonged!

Wota no Father (Anime/Drama)

H!P and its artists have dipped into both animes and dramas throughout the years. This idea could be carried out through either a wacky anime or an overly dramatic (with an evil stepmom) drama. You have a wota. This wota loves his idols so much that he forgets his own daughter’s existence. Barring the daughter being taken away by social services (what fun would that be?), she decides the only way to win the love of her wota father is to become an idol herself. Of course, you could throw in a rival that wants to spoil this girl’s life and who somehow knows this single wota is her father. Now, I don’t want to get into the whole debate of whether wota are emotionally or physically attracted to their idols in this situation, that’s sick you gross, gross person!

Who would be good for this? I don’t know who couldn’t love Aika Mitsui, but I imagine her being the daughter with Koharu Kusumi being the rival.

The Dating Game (Game Show)

DUH!

This could work both ways, with fans and, well, you know…

And here in Massachusetts, we can go with the Newlywed Game…

H!Peroes (Drama)

Lots of people are depressed over Heroes being a casualty of the WGA strike. People want to see people doing heroic things. This problem can be solved. We’ve Rika Ishikawa and Aya Matsuura work with yo-yos. But wouldn’t it be cooler if they worked with super speed and time travel? Maybe Ayaya can travel back to when she was a teenager and was fun to watch.

H!P Kid Nation (Reality TV)

Kanna Arihara will be an honorary H!P Kid for this. Kid Nation has a bunch of kids try to run a town without the help of any adults. As an aside, I don’t believe that is true for a second. For H!P Kid Nation, we could be topical and say they can try to run their own idol group without the help of any adults. But to be more fun, let’s throw them into an abandoned town. We can find if not only they can run it but what H!P kids really hate/like each other.

Well these ideas have to be better than The Biggest Loser.

I’m sure someone reading this can come up with a show idea better than these though. What H!P or Jpop related show could you imagine.
