Was Haromoni@ Worth Watching? February 17, 2008

Haromoni@ has a tough task this week as it not only has to entertain me (which it fails at often) but put me in a better mood. It’s been a long week (Fujimoto returning, Buono’s new album, the Khan PV) and I’m falling behind on stuff. Perhaps I am trying to tackle too many things at once with some planned entries I have ahead of me. I also have the feeling that today will be the third day in a row that I put off watching the Bon Kyu Bon Kyu Bomb Concert.

A performance of Seishun Love Lunch to start us off. Hearing hai hai hai hai hai is not what I need right now. I do like this song though. Aika is my clear favorites of the group. Chisato is a close second. I’ve grown impartial to Risa, at least in this group, but I just can’t get into Mini-Risa. Even if I like this song, this group will never catch my interest like its original version, Mini Moni, did. With Mari being a fantastic foil to the rambunctious kids, there was great chemistry. Perhaps the original plan for Tsuji was to be the lead of her own Mini Moni. I wouldn’t have been in favor of that either. Everyone acting cute in Athena is fine, but it’s nothing I haven’t seen before.

And now to watch Morning Musume watch people do things I’d rather watch Morning Musume do.

Football. A reminder that I still haven’t done anything for an Ongaku Gatas review.

Another juggler. I’ve seen enough jugglers already. Make them go away.

This kid cuts some paper. Super. Wait, why is he wearing his pajamas on TV? Seriously, even at 8, I wouldn’t go on TV in my pajamas unless I was getting PAID.

A skateboarder. Fantastic.

Mika Mutou. Wait I was wrong, it is named Momo. Intentional or not, I laughed. They play Duran Duran - Jump, meaning I’ve heard Duran Duran twice in one month thanks to this show. That’s way more than the Duran Duran allotment for a month. This is stupid animal tricks and that makes me happy.

Ugh. I don’t even care if he was wearing a hat that said Hollywood Valet Service. Just ugh.

Impersonator. UGH.

This girl is going to put her head in a glove. It was not that fun. NEXT.

So we have all the girls blow up gloves. Aika makes her’s huge and proves she knows her way around latex.

A kid tries to eat a toy. Or licks it. Who would have thought the most pedoriffic thing in H!P was going to involve a boy?

A guy tries out to be in the marching band by throwing greenies. Some person seriously drives by in a bike and I think it was unintentional. If it was intentional, it was done right and made me smile. Like I’ve said, people doing goofy and wacky things with people doing normal things in the background is comedy.

Risa. She does something in Korean. It’ll make some people happy. I don’t really care.

Koharu is a man. I don’t need this confusion today.

Risa and Sayumi make fun of Linlin. Pot calling the kettle black.

Linlin is something else at visual comedy. This is in the same room as Junjun last week and Linlin is in the same outfit. I’m digging way deep for hidden meanings this week.

What I’ve been waiting for. A monkey serves as waiter for a restaurant. I would love to have a monkey for a waiter. He is more professional than many other waiters I’ve encountered and I wouldn’t have to worry about tipping him. If he messed up and dropped the food, I couldn’t get mad. Come on, he’s a monkey. Furthermore, I’d probably get to see the money freak out after he spilled the food and start throwing it everywhere. After dinner, I wouldn’t even have to go wash up since monkeys are very clean animals and love to groom other members. I would be fine with other animals being waiters and waitresses too. If a panda (named Junjun) wanted to become a waitress and practice these habits, I wouldn’t stop her. Especially when it comes to the grooming part.

The football dudes win. Winning Haromoni is kind of like winning Who’s Line Is It Anyway.

No buys. Don’t watch it. It’s very bad this week. I’ve found something redeeming in weeks past. Not this week. Besides a little tale about a money, I had barely any enjoyment from this episode. I know that I said I wasn’t in the greatest mood, but there truly is little worth watching this week. I probably could have condensed the show and watched it, in its entirety, about 3 minutes. Every passing Sunday, I look forward to Berikyuu. I have low hopes for next week because we have:

Nothing

to

look

forward

to?… boy was I wrong.

The two blogs I look most forward to on International Wota are MiniMoniMania’s and your Haromoni@ posts. I wake up every Sunday morning in anticipation of watching this show, and your reviews are fantastic! Was Haromoni@ worth watching? I say yes, if only to see what you’ll say about it. Thanks and keep it up.

    BTW, Van Halen does Jump!

Chris - Ahh what a major mistake that was. That would be the 2nd time that I said Duran Duran - Jump. Who knows why I kept the mix up? Well that means I’ve heard ZERO Duran Duran songs in the last month and I can go off and listen to them shout Girls on Film for the next 4 or so minutes.

Thanks for the positive comments though, I always appreciate feedback.

Another great review. I haven’t seen all the Haromoni@ episodes, but reading your reviews makes me feel like setting aside time to watch them. Even if they aren’t worth it.

    And thanks, Chris. :)

Aika is made of pure win. xD

Koharu’s “HIIIII”-rai ken impersonation scared me. It’s like her nose went wonky or something. xD
