TLS MARCH MADNESS~!
In America, around the end of March and beginning of April, basketball lovers gamblers get together to watch the annual NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament. It has mainstream appeal as college basketball is decently popular and the games themselves have plenty of upsets. Taking a cue from the writers/producers of Haromoni, I have decided to steal their idea.
Thus, we have the first annual Hello! Project March Madness Tournament.
It is a tournament of 64. Thankfully, UFA has employed enslaved enough girls to fill a tournament of that many girls. How would it be possible to fill in the rankings of such a tournament? Luckily, I have the TLS Selection Committee to waste their time and fill it out.
Group A - Yoshizawa Region
1. Hitomi Yoshizawa vs. 16. Egg Group A
8. Mystery Idol A vs. 9. Kei Yasuda
4. Miyabi Natsuyaki vs. 13. Megumi Murata
5. Rika Ishikawa vs. 12. Atsuko Inaba
2. Koharu Kusumi vs. 15. Asuna Okai
7. Risako Sugaya vs. 10. Mika Mutou
3. Aika Mitsui vs. 14. Erika Umeda
6. Ayaka Kimura vs. 11. Sayaka Kitahara
Group B - Yajima Region
1. Maimi Yajima vs. 16. Egg Group B
8. Mystery Idol B vs. 9. Eri Kamei
4. Kanna Arihara vs. 13. Saki Shimizu
5. JunJun vs. 12. Mai Hagiwara
2. Chinami Tokunaga vs. 15. Saki Nakajima
7. Erina Mano vs. 10. Kaori Iida
3. Sayumi Michishige vs. 14. Hitomi Saito
6. Aya Matsuura vs. 11. Maasa Sudou
Group C - Suzuki Region
1. Airi Suzuki vs. 16. Egg Group C
8. Mystery Idol C vs. 9. Asami Konno
4. Risa Niigaki vs. 13. Makoto Ogawa
5. Yuri Sawada vs. 12. Erika Miyoshi
2. Arisa Noto vs. 15. Minami Sengoku
7. Natsumi Abe vs. 10. Yurina Kumai
3. Miki Fujimoto vs. 14. Masae Ohtani
6. Ai Takahashi vs. 11. Ayumi Shibata
Group D - Tsugunaga Region
1. Momoko Tsugunaga vs. 16. Egg Group D
8. Mystery Idol D vs. 9. Mari Yaguchi
4. Mai Satoda vs. 13. Yuki Maeda
5. Nozomi Tsuji vs. 12. Miki Korenaga
2. Chisato Okai vs. 15. Erina Aoki
7. LinLin vs. 10. Yui Okada
3. Reina Tanaka vs. 14. Yuuka Maeda
6. Yuko Nakazawa vs. 11. Yuu Kikkawa
Don’t buy into the preliminary rankings. The groups were randomized and the rankings from 1-16 were done quickly. So clearly there is a big difference between #1 and #16 but that doesn’t mean there is a lot that will separate #6 and #11. Furthermore, if you have any issues, take it up with the TLS Selection Committee and not me.
Concerning the Mystery Idol: To spice things up, each group is going to get a mystery idol thrown in. She, OR HE, could be from any period in history and could come from any company. The only limitation on it will be no Namie Amuro. Come on, I have to be fair to everyone else.
Concerning the Egg Groups: There are 19 Hello!Pro Eggs, including the Kansai chicks, that I have absolutely minimal knowledge about. The Eggs that are in Milky Way and Ongaku Gatas get automatic entry into the tournament, but the rest will have to earn their way in. I went throw a complex process* in determining the Hello Pro! Eggs Entry Into The Hello! Project March Madness Tournament Tournament. So I hope you all appreciate the seedings. The first three H!P Eggs drawn were very lucky. To get an even 64, I needed to cut the H!P Eggs fighting from 19 to 16. That means Erina Aoki, Yuuka Maeda and Asuna Okai got into the Tourney free of charge.
* picking numbers out of a hat.
Egg Group A: Akari Saho vs. Irori Maeda // Manami Iwashima vs Abe Asami
Egg Group B: Konatsu Furukawa vs. Nana Nakayama // Azusa Sekine vs Ai Suma
Egg Group C: Ayaka Wada vs. Anri Tanaka // Saki Mori vs Kanon Fukuda
Egg Group D: Saki Ogawa vs. Manami Arai // Mia Sainen vs. Momoka Komine
What will determine who wins in each round and advances to the next? For the early stages, I’ll be comparing the two idols squaring off in 3 different categories that I look for in an idol. I may move to 5 eventually, but probably not. The idol that takes the Best of 3 moves on. Simple huh? The categories are:
Activity - An idle idol is no idol for me. However, watching someone do something utterly terrible is nothing to praise. Therefore, a balance of amount plus quality will determine the Activity category.
Looks - Pretty self-explanatory.
Charisma - I don’t pay attention to these people for them to bore me to tears. How entertaining someone is is how I will define the Charisma category.
The NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball tournament doesn’t start for a few weeks, but I plan to get into this ASAP. The Egg Groups will be done shortly and I expect the other results to start coming in after.

Brutal for the hapless Eggs. You know, I’m not sure but I don’t think a No. 16 has ever kncoked off a No. 1 in a tournament game.

And at this time last year, I was pitting GRE practice exams against each other… measured by how well I performed taking them … lol.
The winner was Computer Science, followed by Biology, then Literature, then Mathematics. :-p

Mai: Who knows!!! (No, JunJun will probably storm through that)
Kawaiirhea: That would be a tough Final Four for me… I got out of Computer Science very quickly and was never good at Biology.
