TLS March Madness: Yoshizawa Region 3v14/6v11
In this round:
3. Aika Mitsui vs. 14. Erika Umeda
6. Ayaka Kimura vs. 11. Sayaka Kitahara

Aika Mitsui
Age: 15
vs.

Erika Umeda
Age: 16
Activity: Aika Mitsui. Both Aika and Erika were busy over the last year. Aika is going to win this round though. The solo performance of Otoko Tomodachi from the Bon Kyu! Bon Kyu BOMB concert was one of the only reasons that made it worthwhile. Erika was involved in Tokaikko Junjou, but she did nothing to stand out in it.
Looks: Aika Mitsui. I believe the exact phrase that I used to describe Erika Umeda was “the ugly duckling who forgot about beautiful swan part.” I’m not saying Erika is ugly per say, but she simply remained in the awkward stage that she should have passed a long time ago. Meanwhile, Aika Mitsui is hot and it is tormenting waiting for the photobook.
Charisma: Aika Mitsui. Aika is infinitely more entertaining than Erika. There isn’t any debate here.

WINNER: Aika Mitsui 3-0. A clean sweep! It is a tough loss to take for Erika as she certainly has increased her profile over the last year. Being a rookie did not stop Aika from surpassing her though.

Ayaka Kimura
Age: 26
vs.

Sayaka Kitahara
Age: 14
Activity: Ayaka Kimura. Sure, Sayaka has just been announced to be a part of Milky Way, but it is all too little too late. Ayaka has a good amount of Uta Doki work behind her.
Looks: Sayaka Kitahara. While Ayaka’s smile is infectious, Sayaka has too much youth on her side.
Charisma: Ayaka Kimura. Admittedly, this isn’t based on just the last year. But come on, Ayaka is more entertaining than Sayaka. To my knowledge, Sayaka hasn’t been able to get any fellow idols to confuse that they’d like to run around naked on a deserted island. Ayaka? Check.

WINNER: Ayaka Kimura 2-1. Sayaka certainly has a lot of potential. It was unfortunate for her to run into Ayaka in the first round. Sayaka may have even been able to knock off two of the other #6 seeds in Yuko Nakazawa and Ai Takahashi After a lull year for Ayaka, making it to the 2nd round has to be nice. However, she will run into Aika Mitsui and has little to no chance of advancing there.
