Activity: Sayumi Michishige. This was a tough category. Ayaya’s solo career has become so terrible and Sayumi is often pushed to the back for the others. However, Sayumi does get lots of attention whenever Morning Musume isn’t singing and she makes the most of it.

Looks: Sayumi Michishige. Come on.

Charisma: Sayumi Michishige. I did see flashes of the old Ayaya (haha, not that kind flash - even though old Ayaya has been known to do that) in her latest solo concert - but it’s too little too late. Sayumi is still playing the conceited gimmick to perfection.

WINNER - Sayumi Michishige 3-0. While it is not shocking that Sayumi won, it is the authority in which she won that surprises me. I thought Aya would put up more of a fight! It has to be a disappointing tournament for Aya…

Activity: Erina Mano. The bad year of Berryz Koubou strikes again! Erina may not have had much to do with why I loved Ongaku Gatas, but she did more for me than Chinami this year.

Looks: Chinami Tokunaga. It is surprising to me to see that Erina is so much older than Chinami. Chinami is just plain hot now.

Charisma: Chinami Tokunaga. Even if you are pushed to the back and your group is making terrible releases, Chinami you are by far and away the most entertaining member of the group.

WINNER - Chinami Tokunaga 2-1. Erina looks to be a solid contender for next year. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if we see an Erina photobook within the next year as well as more exposure from Berikyuu to see if she does have a personality. However, Chinami has the track record and more exposure over the last year. Sayumi will square off against Chinami in the Sweet 16 and it pains me to have to pick between the two.
