I am now afraid that I may never get a chance on TLS to refer to Miyabi Natsuyaki as Seabiscuit. It appears that I waited too long on it! If (and when!) the decision gets handed down on Miyabi, I won’t be in the frame of mind to be calling Miyabi Seabiscuit.

But for now, I can get away with it. For example: Seabiscuit didn’t even stay in H!P to see Big Brown win the Triple Crown.

Whether or not Seabiscuit gets put out to pasture, she’s definitely going through some difficult times. It’s been a long time since we’ve had a scandal with Hello!Project. Because of who I am, I’d argue that it has been too long. Since we have had no scandals, we have had no talk of CURSES~!

But that’s about to change!

Curses, foiled again!

Hello!Project is a land of curses. We have that blasted Love Machine curse. A Sakura Gumi curse, an Aruiteru curse, an AA curse and there is even a W curse. How in the world do you reason a W curse? There are only two members! Regardless, curses are a fun aspect to being a Hello!Project fan, even if it is taking to a ridiculous extreme.

Curse again and I wash your mouth out with soap!

The idea of a curse is ridiculous. For every “curse,” there is a logical explanation of why things went sour. Yet curses are all around us. We used to have American presidents cursed, Tecumseh’s curse. There were reasons why every president died in office before Reagan, but why look at facts? Curses are especially big in sports, as a way to explain how teams “mysteriously” fail or underperform. In reality, the simple fact is that a losing team lost. In fantasy-land, we blame it on goats, fat hot dog eaters, desecrated trophies, bad trades, etc. turning into curses that ruin teams forever.

That being said, has Seabiscuit continued H!P’s long-storied history of curses? Of course she has! We can make curses out of anything!

Over the curse of a year…

First and foremost, we have a continuation of the Sexy Otanajan curse. Megumi Megukami went to concentrate on her “studies.” In reality, she was thrown out of Hello!Project, and the conspiracy theorist in me says someone set her up. Miki Fujimoto, in a non-so-subtle attempt to get out of Morning Musume, got caught in a scandal and thrown out of Morning Musume.

Ah! Of curse, of curse…

The most popular types of curses are based on CD cover artwork. WHY? You are looking at the wrong blog for that line of logic. No, I am here to continue the madness. Since Maiha Ishimura already left/was thrown out of Hello!Project, our new curses can be based on “precedent.”

For our main curse, we have Hay! Say! Jump! boys.

Piriri to Yukou! This is our first CD cover art that places Maiha and Miyabi next to each other. Fitting that it looks like they are setting out sea, as Miyabi is soon to set sail herself. If the Piriri curse were to be true, then Risako would be next. Hope is a word that comes to mind.

As for Maasa Sudou, well, her curse may as well be being Maasa.

I always disliked chemistry curses in school.

Happiness ~Koufuku Kangei!~ The possibilities are extensive here! If we go clockwise, starting at Maiha on the right (since the day typically starts at 3pm…), we can go straight to Miya. That’d mean, like the Piriri curse, Risako would be next. Hopefully we won’t have a year-long break in between scandals in this situation.

If our direction was top to bottom, starting from the right, we have another line of scandals. Maiha, as usual, is our starting point. Chinami Tokunaga had a scare, and a fling, with Bakanishi of KAT-TUN. Somehow, she survived it, proving that Hello!Project is not an equal opportunity discipliner. Miyabi would be next. This would leave us with Yurina Kumai as the next Berryz Koubou member to be caught in a scandal. As I am fairly certain that Yurina has no idea what womanhood is, I doubt she will be caught dating anyone.

I need to hit the golf curse this year.

In Koi no Jubaku, we have Maiha and Miyabi separated by Maasa. We have already found out that Maasa’s curse is being Maasa. Thus, another new curse is born! In the Koi no Jubaku curse, we have the freedom to take any direction that one feels necessary. We could travel north to Saki Shimizu. A scandal involving Saki could involve the breaking of Momoko’s knees to ensure that Saki would not be the shortest member of Hello!Project. We could travel west to Momoko Tsugunaga. If she got caught in a scandal, I think International Wota just may explode.

Kids these days are having intercurse younger and younger. (especially Miyabi!!)

Lastly, we have the Special Generation curse. There is no connection between Maiha and Miyabi here. I would just suggest that Special Generation is much like Tokaikko Junjou for C-ute, a gift and a curse. It is great to finally have material that is fantastic, but all subsequent material will be ranked against it (and usually fail).

An interesting discurse on idols!

For now, I am going to wait on an official decision. Let’s just say I have an o-pun mind… Personally, I don’t care if (and apparently she did) she shows up at the fan club events. As for how I feel about the possibility of Miyabi leaving Hello!Project, it is really indifference at the moment. She is my favorite member of Berryz Koubou and the reason why I think Buono works so well. However, the timing of the scandal has left me being realistic about it. An actual crisis and scandal is happening with a friend of mine. Comparing that situation to what we have here and I realize something, whether Miyabi is in fact thrown out of Hello!Project or not:

An idol getting kicked out of the entertainment world is not the end of the world.
