TLS JUNE Madness: This Finally Ends
It is the return of the World’s Worst Blogging Gimmick. The idea was to do a tournament to decide my favorite idol, at the time, in correlation to the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. Instead, it is going to end at the same time the NBA season comes to a close. The only problem with this is that the NBA season ends almost three months after the NCAA’s.
The TLS Selection Committee is understandably ready stick my head on a pike for letting it get to this point. We had March Madness, a tournament of some 70-odd H!P idols to determine who would be my favorite. It took longer than expected, so we dived into April Madness. May came and went, without any conclusion. But finally, at long last, we can figure out who is my favorite, at the time.
The suspense must have been killing all of you.
Or no one cared anymore about it. And with just cause.
IN THIS ROUND:
1. Hitomi Yoshizawa vs 1. Maimi Yajima
2. Arisa Noto vs 2. Chisato Okai.

Hitomi Yoshizawa
Age: 22
Beat: 16. Akari Saho, 8. Danny Noriega, 5. Rika Ishikawa, 2. Koharu Kusumi
vs.

Maimi Yajima
Age: 16
Beat: 16. Konatsu Furukawa, 9. Eri Kamei, 4. Kanna Arihara, 3. Sayumi Michishige
Activity: Maimi Yajima. When I started March Madness, I was going (mostly) by activity in 2007. There were exceptions to that rule. Well, since it is JUNE, I am throwing all the rules out the window. Ongaku Gatas is dead and Maimi wins.
Looks: Maimi Yajima. Maimi really has a superb look to her. She is both attractive in very short shorts as well as when she pulls off a mature look (something Koharu Kusumi can’t do!)
Charisma: Hitomi Yoshizawa. Again, rules out the window. I don’t think there is anyone that I’d rather see in an interview than Hitomi.

WINNER - Maimi Yajima 2-1. A full year ago, Hitomi probably would have won easily. However, ever since she got an increased role in C-ute after Megumi Murakami’s dismissal, Maimi has just demanded all the attention that she wants.

Arisa Noto
Age: 19
Beat: 15. Minami Sengoku, 7. Natsumi Abe, 11. Ayumi Shibata, 1. Airi Suzuki
vs.

Chisato Okai
Age: 13
Beat: 15. Erina Aoki, 10. Yui Okada, 11 . Yuu Kikkawa, 8. Atsuko Maeda
Activity: Chistao Okai. I repeat, Ongaku Gatas is DEAD. Yes, it was briefly a great group. Those days are long gone.
Looks: Asisa Noto. I just realized that while it is possible for Arisa Noto to look great, 99.9% of the time it doesn’t happen. I would give this category to Chistao, but someone decided to put a femullet on Chisato Okai and I will never forgive them for that. Since I don’t know who to blame, I am taking my anger out on Chisato.
Charisma: Chisato Okai. She is often pushed to the back. However, whenever she does get a chance and isn’t wearing a femullet, Chisato rarely fails in entertaining me.

WINNER - Chisato Okai 2-1.
THE FINALS~!

Maimi Yajima
Age: 16
Beat: 16. Konatsu Furukawa, 9. Eri Kamei, 4. Kanna Arihara, 3. Sayumi Michishige, 1. Hitomi Yoshizawa
vs.

Chisato Okai
Age: 13
Beat: 15. Erina Aoki, 10. Yui Okada, 11 . Yuu Kikkawa, 8. Atsuko Maeda, 2. Arisa Noto
Activity: Maimi Yajima. This isn’t fair. They are in the same group and Maimi is the leader of it.
Looks: Maimi Yajima. This also isn’t fair, mostly because Chisato is facing Maimi here.
Charisma: Maimi Yajima. I am starting to think that Maimi isn’t totally boring in interviews. She may not have anything witty to say. However, it is possible to be so absent-minded that I will laugh.

WINNER - Maimi Yajima 3-0. So it ends with a sweep. This tells me something that I already knew: Maimi Yajima is almost a perfect idol. Other idols may have better individual talents. Other idols may be more attractive or have more charm. Combined into one package though, Maimi Yajima is my favorite.
So ends March April May June Madness. I feel bad that it took this long, but at least it is complete. If I do it next year, I know to be realistic about it. I know not to burn myself on it.

EHH, no fair, Airi SO would have won!
Activity: She’s in two groups!
Looks: Okay, I think Airi is adorable, but I guess Maimi wins because everyone likes her hot legs or whatever.
Charisma: HAVE YOU SEEN THE KOERO RAKUTEN EAGLES MAKING? She’s so funny and weird!
