This Travesty Is Back
I find the pop world fascinating because anyone can create their own perspective of it. This is what my original two favorite blogs, Cult of Pop and Idolizing St. Anna, were able to do. Some of their interpretations didn’t make sense to me at all, but it didn’t matter if I found them to be correct or incorrect. What Ray (Cult of Pop) and Santos (Idolizing St. Anna) did at their respective blogs was create their own view of the pop world.
I told you that I’d give you all a reason for blogging eventually. I just needed to figure it out.
Creating my own perspective of the pop world is the reasoning behind True Life Seek.
Issue With Sitemeter and Internet Explorer
Sometime Friday evening, the script provided by Sitemeter became incompatible with Internet Explorer (both versions 6 and 7). Upon attempting to load the script provided by Sitemeter, an error claiming “Operation Aborted” would occur. I believe this problem only occurred with the JavaScript version.
I know that many in the IW community use Sitemeter. The only solution that I can suggest is to temporarily remove the Sitemeter script from your blog.
This happened on True Life Seek and my other blogs. This also happened on International Wota. It was also happening on other blogs using Sitemeter.
Using the Google Blog Search, I see that there have been bloggers - of different subjects of course - reporting this issue as well.
So for now, I’ve taken the Sitemeter script off of TLS (and IW). I’ve left the script on the Kanna Arihara Picblog so that I will know when the script is compatible again. If you are using IE6/7, this blog will not work.
This error only occured with IE, which is still used by a large portion of web users. You could try using the HTML-only code - I did not try this. I’m just going to wait until the Javascript version works with IE6/7 again until I put it back up.
Edit (2008.08.02 4:30PM EST): I’m assuming that this was solved some time earlier, but the script is working again. It is back on TLS and IW.
Chat With Me!
I have said in the past to contact me through email or find me in #wotachat. However, getting IRC to work can sometimes be an issue. Therefore, I’ve added tiny chat box to TLS, which is located at the top right hand corner of the site. I hope that it is not intrusive or anything.
This will open a chat directly between you and me. If you want to tell me that I am an awful blogger without exposing yourself to anyone else, now is your chance!
So if I am online and you want to chat, this should be an incredibly easy way to do it. If you want to talk about TLS, blogging, Hello!Project, Perfume, how I am slowly falling into the Arashi trap or anything else, I’m game for it. The only thing I ask is that you introduce yourself in the first message. Something like “Hi broomhead, this is Al.” Otherwise, I will have no idea who is chatting with me.
But if you want to remain anonymous and tell me that I am awful blogger, you can do that too. If I find out who you are though, I will expose you to the Interwebs!
True Life Seek Is An Utter Failure
For the last week, I’ve been focused on Batman. It was an excellent movie, but there is the potential that Nolan & Co. made a tremendous mistake. If anyone wants to talk THE DARK KNIGHT (2008) with me, just email me.
Getting on track, this is an entry that I am going to have fun writing. TLS.com has been around for almost half a year now. I’ve had good entries in this time. However, there have been disasters. A blog that is active long enough is going to have some subpar entries. My blog has many of these.
So let’s look at the entries that didn’t live up to expectations. Entries that, in hindsight, I should not have posted. It’s time to expose these entries for the frauds that they are.
It’s That Time Again
Rabbit Rabbit. It is the month of the July. A new month, a new theme. Did you expect anything less?
This is my last theme change for a while though! I’ll be making changes to this theme here and there, but this is the last major overhaul for a while. For me, a while could simply be a few months, but I want this theme to last longer.
There are lots of little features to keep you on the blog for just a few seconds longer each time. Polls on the sidebar. I’ll be having links to whatever media or streaming media that I am spending my days with. I finally wrote up descriptions for categories (Topics link at the top of this page), an about page and a contact page (email me!).
